A CHOBI RUG.

A "Chobi" derives its name from an area largely settled by Turcoman tribes from Afghanistan. These rugs are often distinguished by their exquisite use of 100% natural dyes (veg. & min.). The wool comes from Himalayan sheep known as "Gaznavi Wool" and is hand-spun and hand-knotted with great care and marvelous craftsmanship. These carpets range from120 knots per square inch to 250. The influence of Persian, Turcoman and Afghan cultures results in rugs of great complexity and superb coloration. These carpets will take very heavy wear and will last for generations.

A KAZAK RUG.

These rugs are woven by tribal weavers of the region south of Russia, near the Caucasus Mountains, between the Black and Caspian Seas. Some Caucasian styles include the Kazak, Karabagh, Gendje, Talish, Shirvan, Baku, Kuba and Daghestan. Caucasian rugs have been influenced by Persian, Anatolian, Turkoman and Chinese styles. All Rugs are 100% handknotted and 100% wool.
